"Here" is my gift to everyone who's ever heard my music, and asked me "so when is your album coming out?"
The title of the album means exactly what it sounds like.
Here. Take this. It's not quite the album I always dreamed about. It's barely finished, and the song titles all have the word "Demo" at the end.
But I needed to share my music with the world, and I also needed to quiet the insufferable "wheresyouralbum" nagging.
So here. It's my heart, my soul, and my insecurities, all bundled together into a sad, yearning, and hopeful field of thunder, flowers, and rain showers.
Check out the music video for my first single I ever released, "Like Water"!
I did virtually this entire project alone. I composed, recorded, and mixed the music, and I directed and edited the video. We almost got arrested shooting the video. But it was a good ride. The old train tracks I was filmed on feel like home to me. You can read more about it in the video description.
Disclaimer: I borrowed the camera from my sister, and my friends Carlos Lemus (@kindergeist) and Yuval Baruch helped me shoot it. If anyone wants to get at me with a real burn, think of a way to rhyme "your baby sister's camera".
A.L.A.Y.A stands for "As Long As You're Alive". It's a song about pushing through darkness to find light, because as long as you're alive, nothing can hold you down.
Honest to god, I was trying to make a track in collaboration with my cousin Aryeh (@remediesworsethanthedisease) and Benny Revival (@benny_revival), but unfortunately Benny was not able to make it to my studio that night. Aryeh and I had starting working on a skeleton track for Benny, and we were so seduced by our own creation that we felt we had no choice but to release it ourselves.
